Dear SNM Staff and Contributing Authors:
I met Steve Marshall back in 2007 when I was surfing the Internet and discovered his personal website. I contacted him and we immediately struck up a conversation about writing and started exchanging stories to read and edit. At the time, Steve was working for a horror ezine run by someone else. So he invited me to join him as an editor. We worked together for a few months until we discovered that the ezine wasn't working and the editor was acting shady. I encouraged Steve to strike out on his own. I'm happy to say that in May of 2008 Steve established SNM Horror Magazine and asked me to join him as grammar and text editor. Immediately I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Steve and I have worked together now for over three years. I have very much enjoyed my work with him at SNM and I have especially enjoyed the privilege of reading the work of so many enthusiastic writers who continue to submit regularly. The awards the mag has won speak for themselves. I am sad to say that the current economy has interfered in my life and forced me to spend more time working to pay the mortgage, so I'm letting everyone know that December 2010 will be my last month as editor.
The good news is that Steve and I have formed a friendship that does not end with my leaving SNM. Steve has single-handedly made the magazine work. His dedication and his management skills have kept SNM vibrant and growing. I'm very proud of Steve and honored to have been a part of his vision. I plan to stay in close touch with him and continue to be a regular reader of SNM. I want you all to know that Steve and I will continue to be good friends for as long as we both are alive.
My congratulations to everyone who has been published in SNM and to all of you who have supported Steve over the years. I expect to see continued success and lots of new and exciting horror stories. In closing if you like you can read my poem on Dark Poetry. Thank you for all you have done. 3 years is a lifetime in this business. Way to go!

I'm afraid I must resign from my position at SNM Magazine effective immediately. Certain events have transpired recently that make this a necessity. This has been one of my favorite sites and being able to have selected the stories for 2010 has been a real honor and privilege. New employment has left me with little time enough to dedicate myself the way I'm used to uphold and maintain the quality and integrity of stories published here at SNM. I thank and adore Steve for the opportunity that he has provided, the experience I gained, and friendship we sustained all throughout. I only wish I could continue to dedicate my time to support the vision Steve calls SNM Mag.
Crystal Adkins has taken on a new roll at SNM. Effective as of February 1st, 2009, she will be developing independent author packages and press kits to help promote new up and coming writers of all genres. She comes very highly recommended and will create customized packages: a press kit, book cover design and a review. She will promote them via distribution channels and on Myspace. She is very established in the community and will make your book promotion and package a successful one. She is no longer doing SNM author interviews or book reviews.
